The following is a list of rules regarding gameplay in the Haxball European Competitions.
1. We play Haxball at www.haxball.com.
2. We play 3 versus 3.
3. One match consists of two halves, 5 minutes each (time limit: 5 minutes, goal limit: none). The results of the two halves are then added to make the total result.
4. Players may only be substituted (swapped between Red, Blue and Spectators) before the start of the match or between the halves. Moving a player from Spectators to one of the teams during a half will result in an automatic 0:6 loss for that player's team. The only exception from this rule is when a player leaves the server due to connection problems. In this case the player should be placed back in his team as soon as he rejoins the server.
5. 'Teleporting' (moving players from Red/Blue to Spectators and/or in reverse in order to change the situation on the pitch to one's favour) will result in an automatic 0:6 loss for the team of the server admin who committed the teleporting and the relegation of that team from this season's Champions League/Europa League.
6. In the goal classification, automatic 6:0 wins and losses will be counted as one goal scored by the winning team, but as six goals conceded by the losing team.
7. In face-offs where there is only one match played between the two teams (such as the Champions League/Europa League final match) if there is a draw after the two halves, extra time is played. Extra time consists of two halves, 2 minutes each (time limit: 2 minutes, goal limit: none). If the extra time still produces a draw, then a golden goal extra time is played (time limit: none, goal limit: 1) until one of the teams scores a goal and wins the match.
8. Every match has a home side and an away side. The server must always be hosted in the country of the home side, or, if that is impossible, in a country closer to the country of the home side than to the country of the away side. The exceptions to this rule are the final matches of Champions League and Europa League, which are always played at a neutral ground (neither the country of the home side, nor the country of the away side).
9. In face-offs where two matches are played between the two teams (such as the Champions League/Europa League quarterfinal) the away goals rule is applied. This means that if the aggregate result after two matches is a draw, the team that scored more goals in the away match wins. If both teams scored the same number of goals in their respective away matches, then extra time is played according to the rules set in Rule 6. The away goals rule is NOT applied to the final score after extra time (this means that for example if each team scores one goal in extra time, the golden goal extra time is played despite the fact that one team scored more away goals than the other).
10. Every official HEC match must be recorded (using the 'Record' function in Haxball) and uploaded to www.haxballtube.com.
11. All conflicts must be reported to the admins of HEC, who will make a decision based on evidence and arguments delivered by both sides of the conflict.
12. The admins of HEC have the right to modify these rules whenever a modification is considered necessary. The general rules and 'spirit' of the game will however never be modified.
13. Last but not least, every single participant must have fun ;]
